There Are Only Atoms

There are no hands or feet.
No eyes or ears.

There is no heart, no brain.

No plants or animals.
No mountains. No oceans.
No stars or galaxies.

There are only atoms.

Electrons, protons, neutrons, quarks,
arranging themselves in chemical and nuclear patterns,
underlie the full measure of our observation and experience.

Mostly, everything is empty space.
